Investigative Partners

The law requires that all accepted reports of potential child maltreatment be investigated within a designated time frame by  the appropriate agencies: Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division (CACD), or the Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) . To aid in this process, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, CACD, local Law Enforcement, and DCFS come together as a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) in a trauma informed and child friendly approach to child abuse investigation and service coordination. The primary goal of this team is to reduce the number of people a child may have to tell their story to. The Child Advocacy Center serves as a meeting place and service to these agencies to do their work and provide a safe and child friendly location for evidence collection in a non-biased and nonthreatening way while simultaneously providing support for families.
